Overflow Hotel

Printer-friendly version

Contrary to everyone's expectations, it looks as though we will sell out of guest rooms at the Westin Waterfront, so Arisia has signed a contract with the Doubletree Hotel Boston - Downtown as this year's overflow hotel. We hope to find rooms for most of the people on the waiting list, but unfortunately we can't accommodate everyone, and there are no double rooms left in the Westin at all. If you would more information about the overflow hotel, please visit http://2011.arisia.org/OverflowHotel.

Last year, there were cancellations at the Hyatt even the week of the convention, so even if you're not at the top of the waiting list right now, you might be by the time the con rolls around. However, if you need to take care of your logistics ahead of time, you may want to make a reservation at the overflow hotel. You can cancel this reservation up to 24 hours in advance of arrival. If you would like to remain on the waiting list after making an overflow reservation, you do not need to do anything further. If you would like to be taken off the waiting list, please send email to [email protected] .

Please note, we are NOT able to offer a shuttle to the overflow hotel. The number of Arisians in the overflow hotel will be relatively small, creating extensive inefficiency in any shuttle service that could be provided. However, the rate at the overflow hotel is lower than at the Westin Waterfront, so those savings could be used to pay taxi fares. Particularly if you share rides with others in the overflow hotel, this should still be an affordable option. There is also the very affordable public transportation system. (The Doubletree is at the Tufts/New England Medical Center stop on the Orange Line.)
